How could I forget Innisfree?

I have been longing to return here since my first trip about 10 years ago. My mom and I went last weekend and it was wonderful.

This is my favorite part. Hard to capture, but there are winding small staircases and secret nooks and crannies to explore. I love hidden passageways and stone walls. I love not being able to see the next part of the garden until you find a way in and suddenly emerge into the new space. I'm getting tingly just thinking about how wonderful it is!

Ooo and these gave me lots to think about. I've been doing a lot of thinking about my furniture but not a lot of doing. I got to get on that...

Oh, yes, and I did cut 5" off my hair! (you can kind of see it in the first pic)

Hi Jess! I wonder how many other people in Michael's workshop were blog folks whose paths we've crossed in this virtual land. Cool! I'm trying to picture you from your avatar, but honestly, I was so wrapped up in that darn shoe that I didn't focus on much else. It was a great workshop, but I'm much happier with what I ended up doing after taking the shoe apart. I am definitely going to do more "ah-sem-blaahge" work in the future:>

Teaching and art... well, it's a tough balance. I don't think teaching gets any easier as time goes on, beacuse there are so many extras piled on top of what you actually want to do... which is teach. I think at least once you have your materials prepared and you get your class room routine in order, at least you have a feeling of a foundation on which to build.

Anyway... it would certainly be fun to chat about art and teaching sometime. I get the feeling you're somewhere in the Northampton area (BTW, I love the shirts you made for that shop!), so perhaps when I'm up there, we could meet for coffee or tea or whatever. I have an email link on my blog if you want to write me directly.

Take care... and enjoy the summer:> Innisfree looks gorgeous... I think I need to visit it!

Hi Jess, Nice to meet you. Thank you for visiting my Blog. I Love Mass. I used to spend all my Summers there growing up. I was there 4 years ago with my kids on the Cape! Lovely Pics too. Please stop by again. Jamie
